Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, using a web connection. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest assemblage of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to pick the most beneficial game each instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that has been won. Further, some versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which situation another hand is played. There are also variations between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
