Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, using a web account. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘dealt’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the player has decided on which cards she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are handed out if desired. The game is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making game every time.
Once the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that might have been won. Further, some styles of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to increase their wins, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
